Coinbase once again criticized

the SEC’s accusations as exceeding its jurisdiction. It said the SEC considers any purchase in which the buyer expects to obtain increased value to constitute an investment contract and therefore a security, and that such an expansion of securities laws needs to be backed by congressional authorization.
